Rich "Fly Double N" Flynn - bass, sarcasm, general badassery

One of those geeks with an encylopedic knowledge of Middle-Earth and the Marvel Universe, Rich Flynn's lifeftime residency in New Jersey has imbued him with a love of Taylor Ham, an aversion to pumping his own gas, and a superior sense of direction on major highways and inside shopping malls. A one-time recipient of the "Most Likely to be Mistaken for Meatloaf" Award (the singer, not the food), Rich has been more often told that he resembles the late John Ritter.

Rich has played bass, with occasional forays into other instruments, since freshman year of high school. His band Nougat won the 1993 Wayne Valley High School talent show, and, Rich reports, "it's all been downhill from there." The disappointing sequels include such bands as Malibu Jesus, Glue Factory, Spiny Norman, and Pentacaust (a name for which Rich refuses to claim personal responsibility).

Rich is drawn to a musical sensibility exactly halfway between folk and punk. He'd describe it as "Funk" if the name hadn't already been claimed by another musical genre. Consequently, he prefers "Polk," which has the added virtue of reminding him of James K. Polk, his favorite president after Chester A. Arthur.

Rich has been a television producer since 1999 because he doesn't want to put himself in a position in which he might accidentally contribute to society. He is currently in his third year of producing Mad Money with Jim Cramer for CNBC.
